Substitute Teacher

This quilt was named to honor substitute teachers because a good substitute teacher can fit into many different classroom situations.  When you finish the quilt, you will see that a good fabric can fill many positions in a patchwork block.  There is an ironic twist to this quilt.  The very same people who are a little disturbed that every block is not identical will love the orderliness of the the construction technique.  Orderliness is very important.  Just as a substitute teacher has to let the students know early on who is boss, you need to control the 490 pieces you cut for these blocks or they will control you. Follow the directions carefully and you will stay in control.
